I can't wait for Part 3! I am loving your tutorials. I have watched you play the full version and can't quite master the note sequences between Part 1 and Part 2 of your tutorials so I am looking forward to the next instalment 😁. You are inspiring me to keep practicing as I have tried to learn on and off now for 30 years, but I hate trying to play music that I am not particularly interested in. Thank you so much! Keep safe and well!

Tip for other beginners: I found it easy to play the 12-note rift after seeing it as four 3-note sequences, with every 2nd sequence going the opposite direction of the previous one. Hope it helps others.
Also, huge thanks for these tutorials, Josh! I started learning around a month ago but nearly quit it because of the stagnating process and no easy-to-find beginner-catered tutorials of nice songs. Then I tried learning your other covers by watching hands, but that wasn't easy either. Then out of nowhere, you posted the amazing step-by-step tutorial past week. You would not believe how euphoric I was to see it. Now I'm motivated all over again and started to learn notes this time too.
Hope to see you perform one of your albums live some day!
    Big love from Warsaw!

@@joshcohenmusic That riff seemed much, much harder than the first part of the song at first, but after a few hours, i got it locked enough that i can play it at tempo, even in my shower (without the piano) getting that in such short time from a synthesia video would've been impossible, you're the reason i'm confident about sticking to hard word with my new piano, i'll be sure to come see you when you're finally able to play here in europe, to get inspired for the years to come !

I bought your songbook on a bit of a whim...largely because I really liked your Exit Music cover -- and found other versions so much less palatable (no disrespect to the others). Daydreaming wasn't on my radar at all...but just popped up in youtube algorithm land one day. They really got the name right, didn't they? So dreamy. That riff is haunting. Felt appealing to learn that bit first...but I've found it really isn't much of a stand alone and needs the rest of the melodies to make it shine. I enjoyed your comments and teaching style on this...something clicked with the idea of ''shapes'' (something I usually only associate with guitar chords...which is silly). Practicing those progressions of shapes is such a great fundamental practice. So thanks for that! And for the music of course.
Curious if you've thought about offering more tutorials in a patreon-like forum. No doubt these take a lot of time to produce. I'm sure many would happily make contributions for your efforts. I've spent days picking apart your ''teardrop'' cover...and would love to hear your insights/approach on that one (and a handful of others!! ha). Sincere curiosity. No pressure. :)

Hey Darrell, thanks for the comment and kind words.
I don’t have any immediate plans to do any more tutorials at this stage and have shifted on to originals moving forward. Perhaps I’ll revisit it down the track but won’t be doing more any time soon.
      Thanks again x

I’m thoroughly enjoying your song book right now and I have also been trying to play your cover of High and Dry by rewatching the video. I thought the last right hand partern was, C, B flat, F, E, B flat, A, F, D, B flat, E, F, A. But you start with D which makes it a lot easier as you don't have to move that finger over from C to D.

  • @NestorMandela

This is such amazing idea. I love Radiohead but have only 1 1/2 years of piano on my back so I reckon most of the arrangements in your book would be far up my league but this one is more than manageable. I know you can't make a tutorial for each song (it's a lot of work and you want to sell your book) but maybe you could make a private set of videos for those who purchase your book with studying tips for each arrangement (fingering, dynamics...) Maybe you can show an arragement from the book that represents the avergae difficulty so people like me can form an idea of what we'll be against :-)
Congrats again and ty for the effort.
